The Omega Leo Medical Explorer Post is a "Volunteer Medical Organization"
We have designed our Medical Explorers with the specific purpose of addressing changes to the U.S. Healthcare System within the past 10-15 years that have made it difficult for hospital and physicians to accept students in "Shadow Expreiences." We understand the pressures being placed upon healthcare today that make "Shadowing" difficult.
We have identified the obstacles that are preventing this important tradition in the preparation of future health professionals. We believe we have addressed the onstacles with meaningful training, structure, and controls that will enable the tradition of "Shadowing" to continue. Please examine our list of obstacles and our responses, and partner with us in this New Way of preparing future health professionals.
