We accept gifts of supplies and equipment.
Our students carry emergency response bags with almost $1,500 of medical supplies needed to response to just about any first-aid situation anticipated. We ensure that our crews are well trained in theuse and operation of every piece of equipemnt we carry and how to use the bandages and supplies in an emergency.
We carry our own AEDs so as to have them available immediately when needed.
We are thankful to Central Texas Lions Clubs for their generous gifts that have helped us purchase most of ur equipment and supplies.
We have been fortunate that some gifts have come from individuals, usually retiring health professionals. We accept just about any gifts of medical supplies and equipment from friends. If we can't use something, we will find a good home for the gift.
We accept gifts from families that may have left over medical supplies and equipment such as wheelchairs. We need a few wheelchairs for when we support the Sunshine Kids pediatic cancer program. Every year we provide five to six wheelchairs to be used by these cancer kids from out of state, coming to San Marcos for the Texas Hill Country Adventure. Any wheelchairs inexcess of what we need we pass along to others who may need a wheelchair.
Scholarships

Donations to the endowed scholarship can be made through the Texas State University website below. All three scholarships are under one title - The Charles and Linda Johnson Endowed Scholarships and donations can be made through the Texas State University Development Foundation.
One is an undergraduate scholarship with the primary selection criteria being "Community Service." The scholarship is primarily directed to members of the Medical Explorer program who have an outstanding volunteer record. Application procedures are being developed, but can be found by e-mailing Charles.Johnson@txstate.edu.
A second undergraduate scholarship is to support students seeking Emergency Medical Technician - Basic training. Again, specific application procedures are being developed but interested students should e-mail Charles.Johnson@txstate.edu for details.
