Position Description

Learning Assistants (LAs) are paid $14.00/hour to join faculty-student instructional teams for specific TXST COSE courses. LAs commit to 5-10 hours per week (with options for additional hours in the Study Centers). LAs differ from other peer educators, because they assist faculty during instruction, facilitate student interactions with research-based activities, and study and reflect on relevant discipline-based research on learning and teaching.

What do LAs do?

Learning Assistants (LAs) are undergraduate students who support their peers' learning by guiding student groups through challenging activities during class. LAs meet weekly with faculty and enroll in a pedagogy course. LAs may assist students outside of class in unstructured Study Centers.
