Online Advising Resources

Most requests to the COSE Advising Center are via form.

Forms exist for: changing your minor, course evaluations & substitutions, course overload requests, requests to take courses off-campus, Courses Counting Towards Degree issues, and special requests

Ask a COSE Advisor

Are you a COSE advisor with a quick question about a Texas State policy or degree requirement? Do you need help locating a campus resource?

Virtual Express Advising

Virtual express advising is a way to connect with an advisor via Zoom without a scheduled appointment. Virtual express advising is offered at select times & days. Express advising sessions are 15 minutes or less.

Registration difficulties

Are you confused about a registration error you received?
Do you meet the requirements for a course, but the registration system won't let you register?
Is a course closed and you want to know what your options are?

Schedule a Zoom appointment

Advisors can meet with students via Zoom to discuss degree requirements, probation strategies, recommended course registrations, and more.

Advising for Probation

If your Texas State GPA is below 2.0 and you are a COSE major, you are on probation. While advisors love to meet with students in real time, we understand that sometimes email is preferred.

Advisors would like to collaborate with you via email or in real-time.
