Appointment Request for Long-Range Planning

  • To ensure that our advising resources are used effectively and equitably, we have established specific requirements for students to request a long-range (LR) planning appointment. Due to the time-intensive nature of LR planning, we are unable to schedule these appointments for all students.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    1. The student's program of study (degree, major, and possible minors or concentration) should be finalized.
    2. Students must have completed the "gateway" courses for their major. See below for more details.
    3. Students should be in the advanced stages of their major sequencing.
    4. Students must demonstrate academic progress and success in their major courses. The student's TXST GPA must be 2.00 or higher.

Why These Requirements? LR planning is a detailed and time-consuming process. By focusing on students who have met certain curricular goals, we can ensure that our advisors' time is spent creating plans that likely will not require adjustments in the future.

Students who do not meet the requirements are welcome to schedule an appointment with an advisor to focus on planning for the upcoming semester.

  • Review the curricular requirements listed below. If you have completed the listed courses with the grade listed, you may request to schedule a long-range planning appointment.
