Agricultural Sciences Students Compete in the American Society of Animal Sciences Quadrathlon

Texas State University students showcased their knowledge and skills in this year’s American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) Academic Quadrathlon. This is a prestigious competition held as part of one of the largest animal science organizations.
The event challenged students through a rigorous four-part competition which included: a fast-paced quiz bowl which tested universities head to head, testing their expertise across a variety of animal science disciplines; an in-depth written examination that assess their understanding of key animal science principles; a problem solving presentation in which students tackled real-world animal science issues with innovative solutions; and an 11-part practicum which required hands-on mastery in livestock management, nutrition, genetics, and animal health.
After demonstrating exceptional teamwork and discipline, Texas State secured an impressive 9th-place finish overall, solidifying their place among the top competitors throughout the southern and western regions of the U.S. A huge congratulations to our students for their outstanding performance!
